Joyce opened the first permanent cinema in Dublin of course and looked for premises in Belfast and Cork too. Jorg's should be a fascinating talk - and Eamonn is always interesting. It's great that Féile is spreading its wings and delving into a neglected aspect of Belfast history - its popular entertainment.

This new site only went online a few days ago, and rest assured there will be many news updates this week! You may want to follow us on Twitter for even more updates!

On the programme: August Féile is a community festival, therefore hundreds of events run by the community and community groups must be confirmed, organised and thoroughly planned. It is impossible to get the programme out any earlier. Most other festivals are not community festivals, so they have programmes out that teeny bit earlier.

Hope that's cleared it up a teeny bit, get in touch if not! Will you be popping over to West Belfast in August?

Any chance of updating this thing a bit more often? Alternatively you could try to get the programmes out a bit earlier. Other festivals release programmes 1 or 2 months or more in advance. Féile seem to do it a couple of weeks beforehand. Surely we deserve more from one of the biggest festivals in europe so we can plan our holidays/recovery days in advance. le meas nach beag
